You are in: COURSES >BAHT Overview
The British Association of Hand Therapists (BAHT) is a registered charity whose aim is to advance and promote the study and general knowledge of the treatment of the hand. BAHT aims to encourage high standards of care, education and research in the field of hand rehabilitation.
Membership of BAHT is open to Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists with a special interest in hand rehabilitation.
NES Hand Therapy Training is proud to teach BAHT validated courses helping the new generation of hand therapists acquire the skills and knowledge they need to practice competently and gain their qualification "Accredited Hand Therapist (BAHT)". There are a variety of routes to becoming an Accredited Hand Therapist (BAHT) and these are explained fully on the BAHT website. The simplest route is to attend and pass a Level I course in the first two years of clinical practice in the field followed by three Level II courses. Finally, a Level III needs to be completed.
BAHT BURSARIES are available and we would encourage you to apply for them:
For a Level I bursary the applicant needs to be a BAHT member but there is no requirement regarding the duration of membership – there are 2 Level I bursaries available in the financial year at £200 each.
There are a total of 9 Level II bursaries of £425 available in the financial year; preference is given to those who have had membership for 2 or more years.
Application forms for bursaries and the forms the committee use to mark the application can be found in the Bursaries section on the BAHT website: www.hand-therapy.co.uk There are also bursary reports on the website which previously successful members have completed.
