Qualified as an OT in 1986 from Cardiff.

Hand Therapy career started in 1987 at Mount Vernon Hospital and continued at University College, London in 1990 where she developed the burns and plastics service.

The Hand Therapy department at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead was the next service Sarah developed. She worked there for 8 years until 2000, building the staff from three to twelve.

Sarah is the first Consultant Hand Therapist and works at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London where the unit draws work from five consultants.

The workload includes orthopaedic and plastics hand injuries (80%) and acquired conditions.

Her role is to manage the service, co-ordinate research and audit as well as running a twice weekly Practitioner Clinic in her role as an extended scope practitioner.

Served on the BAHT education sub-committee 1996 - 2001.

Teaching experience: Many validated and non validated courses as well as a lecture tour of South Africa with Nicola.

Special Interests include anatomy, peripheral nerve injuries, sensory assessment and splinting.
Studying for MSc in Hand Therapy.
