Sarah Mee Dip COT SROT PG Dip

  • Qualified as an OT in 1986 from Cardiff.

  • Hand Therapy career started in 1987 at Mount Vernon Hospital and continued at University College, London in 1990 where she developed the burns and plastics service.

  • The Hand Therapy department at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead was the next service Sarah developed. She worked there for 8 years until 2000, building the staff from three to twelve.

  • Sarah is the first Consultant Hand Therapist and works at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London where the unit draws work from five consultants.

  • The workload includes orthopaedic and plastics hand injuries (80%) and acquired conditions.

  • Her role is to manage the service, co-ordinate research and audit as well as running a twice weekly Practitioner Clinic in her role as an extended scope practitioner.

  • Served on the BAHT education sub-committee 1996 - 2001.

  • Teaching experience: Many validated and non validated courses as well as a lecture tour of South Africa with Nicola.

  • Special Interests include anatomy, peripheral nerve injuries, sensory assessment and splinting.
    Studying for MSc in Hand Therapy.
